I've been remiss in not sharing some love with some very deserving artists. As has been my simple formula, I will be highlighting works from my Favorites that have not had as many favs as my most Favorited piece The Swan(335) since posting version III of this Journal Series. I hope this will bring some attention to some wonderful artists whose work deserves more attention. Without further ado, some cool art not many people have seen.
Well, another year and a half has passed and it's time for me to head through my favorites for the past year and highlight a few that didn't get as much attention as they deserve. In the past, I have included pieces that received fewer favs than my most fav'd piece for the year; however, this year I was lucky enough to get a DD which sorta messes with my formula. So, I will use my second most fav'd piece (292 favorites) as the threshold ... every piece in this feature has received less than 292 favs and deserve some more attention. I hope I can help just a little with that.
As was the case in the past, my page doesn't get the biggest flow of traffic and this may not be a huge boon to any of these wonderful artists, but I thought I'd go through my Favorites and look for pieces that had fewer favs then my best in the last year which has received 395 and create a quick little Journal entry that would at least give them a little more exposure.
So, my page doesn't get the biggest flow of traffic and this may not be a huge boon to any of these wonderful artists, but I thought I'd go through my Favorites and look for pieces that had even fewer Favs than my best (a meager 347) and create a quick little Journal entry that would at least give them a little more exposure.

The Art of Painting Miniatures and Garage Kits by sivousplay, journal
The Art of Painting Miniatures and Garage Kits
I am new to the deviant scene and have been asked by a number of people, "Do you sculpt the pieces in your gallery? And if not, where do you get them?"
The simple answer, is no I do not sculpt them.
The larger scale pieces (1/8 (~225mm) - 1/4 (~450mm) scale) are sold as "kits" generally with 10-50 resin pieces. They must be assembled, and many times some simple sculpting is necessary to blend the pieces together. There are any number of small companies (many times run by the sculptor or a sculptor/caster pair). If you search for "garage kit" or "resin kit" outside of deviant, you will find many links to their online stores. If you find them
