My latest is an unbelievably detailed and incredibly huge sculpt from pkking ... Guardian Beast Barretta (Height 28CM X 35CM Width X Length 45CM ); the kit also comes with an incredibly detailed base that I tried to give that "pits of hell" look. I see this figure at a HUGE gaming miniature and as such wanted to show him off against some gaming scale figs. So, my first diorama pics show him vs. three gaming scale angels who have got their work cut out for them. As always, everything is hand-painted with acrylics.

I hope you like it. It was definitely an endurance test with such a HUGE figure and SO much detail.

If you'd like to see more pics, please visit my site: [link]

Cheers.

The sculpture was completely painted by you? What an amazing work!
And I am fascinated of the details of the sculpt...!

The coloring is amazing! How long did it take you? I took a look on pkking's website - his sculptures are really masterpieces. This huge beast was an assembly kit that has to be mounted, right? Did you paint the parts first or did you paint the complete assembled sculpture?

This project probably took 60-70 hrs. It's not only a large kit (lots of surface to cover with paint), but a lot of pieces (I don't recall the exact count but it was somewhere around 50-60 pieces so, a great deal of prep work to get everything ready to paint). For something this size, I build up sub-assemblies so that its easier to manipulate while painting but reduces the amount of gluing I have to do once all the painting is done.

So almost a hour per piece, but it was definitely worth the effort!
The preparing work is always a bit annoying in my opinion...
Sorry, one more question: Is this chain made from plastic material or is it metal?
It looks so real...

Sometimes, there is no substitute for lots of time ... especially when a kit has so much detail. About the chain ... I purchased some chain at my local hardware store and primed and painted it just like everything else. So, it hangs very naturally because it is real chain. And, please feel free to ask as many questions as you like ... I'm always happy to talk about my hobby. :)

A very good idea with the real chain. I like it when kits / miniatures are improved with own ideas :-)
Well, it is unique because of the color - but little details make it even more unique!
How many copies of this kit were sold by the artist, do you know that?

I'm glad you like the small changes ... that's why I try to make my own base for figures to enhance "my version of their story."

I'm not sure on the exact number, but based on conversations I've had w/ the sculptor about other kits, it would likely be in the 20-50 range ... certainly less than 100.
