Heaven vs. Hell by sivousplay Heaven vs. Hell by sivousplay
My latest is an unbelievably detailed and incredibly huge sculpt from pkking ... Guardian Beast Barretta (Height 28CM X 35CM Width X Length 45CM ); the kit also comes with an incredibly detailed base that I tried to give that "pits of hell" look. I see this figure at a HUGE gaming miniature and as such wanted to show him off against some gaming scale figs. So, my first diorama pics show him vs. three gaming scale angels who have got their work cut out for them. As always, everything is hand-painted with acrylics.

I hope you like it. It was definitely an endurance test with such a HUGE figure and SO much detail.

If you'd like to see more pics, please visit my site: [link]

Cheers.

Seen this with Darksiders AND Diablo.... Hell always has these creative and huge awsome monster, and all heaven has are armored little Angels in various crummy armors and different wing colors....

I like to think it shows that good can conquer evil even against great odds

well, that is possible too ... my goal here was really to show off how HUGE the demon sculpt was and all the details ... the gaming-scale angels were mostly there for scale reference

Thanks so much for your kind words ... actually, the angels are from a very short-lived mini company called Sacred Blade Miniatures ... if you ever visit coolmini, check out petethemighty ... he was the sculptor.

It is HUGE and very pointy ... there were many times when painting various pieces that my hand would look like a pin cushion when I was done because of all the spikes pressing into my hand for SO long.

The Guardian Beast came in about 50 pieces or so ... don't recall exactly, but it required a great deal of work on sub-assemblies. On a related note, the pieces fit together amazingly well so there wasn't much "touch-up" sculpting required to mesh the pieces together. Most just fit perfectly. I hope this helps.

When you are working w/ superglue and/or epoxy, that stuff is bound to happen. Actually, the most painful aspect of this guy is that all those spikes everywhere are very pointy and he's quite heavy ... the combination of the two means that there are times when you have to hold it quite steady to paint delicate detail and these spikes are being driven into your hand ... my hand would look like a pin-cushion after some painting sessions!! :)
