I wish they all could be Transylvania girls ... by sivousplay
I wish they all could be Transylvania girls ...
Hello, here is my custom build up of the 1/6 scale kit from Filmy's Girls called Charge! ... a very fun sculpt. My client is a fan of "old school" horror films and I suggested painting her in greyscale with just a touch of red (her lipstick). Walls and base are custom built. A few fun touches ... I added some labels to her cans of hair spray (ScareSpray TM), put a picture of her and her boyfriend on the wall (a still from the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein), added a hair scare meter behind her so that she could tell when here hair was "just right" and filled a few miscellaneous bottles with resin to fill up her makeup table. Anyway, I hope you like her; it was a fun project for sure!!

More pics can be seen on my website at:

Well, another year and a half has passed and it's time for me to head through my favorites for the past year and highlight a few that didn't get as much attention as they deserve. In the past, I have included pieces that received fewer favs than my most fav'd piece for the year; however, this year I was lucky enough to get a DD which sorta messes with my formula. So, I will use my second most fav'd piece (292 favorites) as the threshold ... every piece in this feature has received less than 292 favs and deserve some more attention. I hope I can help just a little with that.

Cheers,
jim

The quality and accuracy in your pieces is amazing. :O

How much time do you usually need to craft and finish your average artwork?

I should add, most of the time, I create a one-of-a-kind display / diorama base for the pieces and this will generally take another 10+ hours.

That's still impressive. Not many people can color as clean and lean as you :o

And judging from the results, even a whole day of work looks totally worth it!

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. To be clear, I am the builder / painter / photographer of these pieces; other fine artists are responsible for the sculpture itself. The sculptures are molded in resin and sold as models (with anywhere from 10-70 pieces) that have to be assembled. Depending on the number of pieces, the assembly work can range from 5-10 hours and the painting work can range from 25-50 hours.
